Faith Dev Lab: Digital Agency Website

Faith Dev Lab is a personal web agency brand offering web development, UI/UX design, and SEO services under one identity, built around the tagline "We feel, we form, we fulfill, so you flourish" to sum up the promise of pairing strong design with real, working performance. With no past client work to point to yet, the site itself was built to double as proof of what the agency can deliver.

Roles

A Skill-by-Skill Breakdown

Each project draws on a mix of disciplines, here's how they came together on this one.

Web Development

  • Built the site with Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, and TypeScript.
  • Structured the page as a single-page layout with anchor-based navigation across Hero, About, and Services.
  • Built a reusable typewriter text component with react-simple-typewriter for the hero section.
  • Optimized image, JS, and CSS delivery to achieve a green Google PageSpeed score across all four categories.

Web Design

  • Designed a dark, minimal single-page layout built around the agency's own black and white brand colors.
  • Added a subtle animated gradient background behind the hero section.

Graphic Design

  • Created the website's image assets and laid out the existing logo to fit the site.
  • Created the site's favicon.
  • Compressed every image to WebP and under 200KB before upload, without a visible drop in quality.

Digital Marketing

  • Wrote SEO meta tags and Open Graph data to represent the agency across search and social sharing.
  • Wrote the agency's differentiator copy (fast delivery, pixel-perfect execution, transparent budgets, free consultations, clean code, ongoing support) to set its positioning apart from generic agency pitches.

Highlights

Behind the Scenes

A closer look at what the finished product offers, the obstacles along the way, and what came out of it.

Key Features

  • Fully responsive design across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Optimized images for fast loading.
  • Three core services highlighted, Web Development, UI/UX Design, and SEO Optimization.
  • Single-page layout with anchor-based navigation through Hero, About, and Services.
  • Reusable typewriter text component powering the hero section.
  • Animated gradient background behind the hero section.
  • Dark theme built around the agency's own black and white brand colors.

Challenges Faced

Building on a Stack That Had Just Shipped

Next.js 16, React 19, and Tailwind CSS v4 had all just been released, with far fewer examples and community solutions to lean on than more established versions, worked through directly via official docs and AI coding assistants.

Hitting a Perfect Google PageSpeed Score

Getting a green score across all four PageSpeed categories required careful optimization of image, JS, and CSS delivery across many device breakpoints.

Lessons Learned

  • Building the agency's own marketing site was also a chance to test-drive Next.js 16 and React 19 before using them on client work.
  • A single-page format with just three core sections was enough to make the pitch clearly, without needing to over-explain.
  • Adopting a major version upgrade (Tailwind CSS v4) on a low-stakes personal project first made it much safer to bring into client work later.

Impacts

Problems Solved After Launch

How this project changed things for the business and its users after launch.

A credible web presence

PageSpeed green across all 4 categories

Images under 200KB

Full redesign

Critical Fix

A Web Agency With No Website of Its Own

Before

Faith Dev Lab had no site of its own to point prospects to while offering web development services to others.

After

Now has a live, professional site to share directly with prospects, turning the agency's own web presence into part of its pitch.

Performance

Below-Target Google PageSpeed Scores

Before

Early performance was inconsistent across the four Google PageSpeed categories.

After

Continuous optimization of images, JS, and CSS delivery brought all four categories into the green.

Performance

Slow-Loading Pages From Unoptimized Images

Before

High-resolution images across the site, not just one section, risked slowing down every page.

After

Every image across the site is compressed to WebP and kept under 200KB, keeping pages fast without a visible drop in quality.

Improvement

An Outdated Look That Didn't Match the Agency's Ambition

Before

The previous version of the site looked dated and wasn't fully responsive across devices.

After

Redesigned into a modern, elegant, fully responsive experience that better reflects the agency's own design capabilities.
